We went this past weekend which was our first time here. Honestly I don't know why this place doesn't have a higher average rating...our experience was great. The food was really really good - upscaled versions of what we usually get. The service was prompt. The restaurant decor was kind of what you might expect in midtown (I guess?). So while it's located inside the Skyview Mall it doesn't quite feel like you're in a mall.

I've come here a few times already, it's a hidden gem in the Skyview mall. You have to go towards the back by the supermarket. It is a super cute, clean restaurant. The few times ive gone in the past and this time, it was pretty quiet and there were only a few people eating there. In the back, there are private areas where you can sit if you come with a big party. They give you hot tea when you sit down. I ordered the pork soup dumplings, jumbo salt and pepper fried shrimp, and the chicken and spinach soup. All were absolutely delicious. I've also tried the beef and spinach soup, which is equally delicious. The server was extremely kind and attentive. Just as we were finishing our first pot of tea, he was already bringing another one! Tea is free, by the way. In terms of pricing, the items are not very expensive unless you order seafood, the prices vary for those. They are not listed on the menu so you may have to ask depending on when you go. Otherwise, most dishes are very reasonable. Appetizers are under $10, entrees are between $15-$26 range. Seafood is probably more. I will definitely be back to try more of the food!!

Every time I go to the Flushing mall, I pass by this sign for Grandma's Dim Sum. Finally decided to go inside for dinner. Not packed on a saturday night which is great for me, we were immediately seated. We ordered the eggplant and string beans, beef in spicy oil dish and beef chow fun (forgot to take a photo). Theres tea included. The vegetable dish was super delicious, we finished it off immediately. Next the szechuan beef was great as well. It contained cabbage and wood-ear mushrooms! I loved the wood-ears, they soaked up a lot of flavor. Finally the beef chow fun was a good dish to still have protein for our friend who never had szechuan spice before, as a calmer dish to go to when you need a break. Overall the food was tasty, I'd come here again especially for that eggplant dish they have.
